From Training to Traction Why Most Capability-Building Fails

Across organisations in Singapore, training investments continue to increase, yet measurable workplace impact remains inconsistent. This innovLogue reframes the problem not as a shortage of training, but as a traction gap, the failure to translate learning into improved performance, productivity, and capability.

The session adopts a practice-centred lens. Rather than focusing on traditional classroom instruction, the discussion centres on how learning must be embedded within work itself, supported by evaluation methods that measure behavioural change, workplace application, and organisational outcomes.

Speakers:

Dr Bryan Lim – Turning training into measurable, job-embedded outcomes

Thomas Liew – Navigating the shift to skills-first, workflow-integrated learning

Dr Tommie Chen – Why capability-building is now a national, tripartite imperative

Moderated by Dr Lee Kang Yam
